With the improvement of the atmospheric environment, the acid content in rainwater has increased, which has also had a considerable impact on open-air equipment such as Marine cranes. Therefore, rust prevention is also a major issue in the maintenance of Marine cranes.
For the damaged parts of the paint film on the metal structure of Marine cranes, the surface of the components should be cleaned thoroughly and coated with anti-rust paint and decorative paint film to protect the metal surface from rusting after rain or snow. For the moving parts of Marine cranes, such as the connection pins between the lifting slings and the Marine cranes, each guide wheel, trolley wheels, etc., rust prevention work should be done carefully. After the machine stops, you can first brush these parts clean with a brush to remove impurities, moisture, rust spots and other substances that can cause rust. Then apply -10 or -20 diesel to these parts. Because -10 or -20 diesel has stronger permeability than engine oil, it can penetrate into the load-bearing screw parts, forming an oil film on the metal surface. Also, due to its low freezing point, it can resist low temperatures. After cleaning and lubricating with diesel, apply a layer of grease. Calcium-based or lithium-based greases are excellent choices because these two types of greases have good mechanical stability, adhesion and water resistance, and their freezing points can also reach -20 degrees. When applying grease, the coating should not be too thick. When using a quay crane, one should also be cautious to avoid causing harm to oneself and others.
The main principle of Marine cranes lies in the composition and operation of their power units. The power unit is composed of an electric motor, a reducer, a clutch, a brake, a rope drum and a steel wire rope, etc. The motor is a single-phase capacitor motor with a magnetic connection, and it is designed with a braking mechanism upon power failure. The motor is also equipped with a thermal switch to prevent it from overheating and burning out. The reducer is a two-stage gear reduction, so it is integrated with the motor clutch, brake and fly cylinder. However, when the clutch is disengaged, it can achieve rapid descent. Operating the brake can control the descent speed to avoid impact. The circular holes opened on the front of the power unit housing can be used to install hair dryers. Users can equip hair dryers as needed for forced cooling.
Marine cranes are devices and machinery provided by ships for loading and unloading goods, mainly including boom devices, deck cranes and other loading and unloading machinery.
Marine cranes are a special type of crane that perform transportation operations in Marine environments. They are mainly used for important tasks such as the transportation and transfer of goods between ships, Marine replenishment, and the deployment and recovery of underwater operation equipment. The special application environment at sea poses great challenges to the control of Marine cranes. On the one hand, similar to various underactuated crane equipment on land, it is necessary to control the swing generated during the load transportation process, as well as its positioning accuracy and transportation rate. On the other hand, since this type of crane is fixed on a moving platform such as a ship, the movement of the platform itself has a strong impact on the movement of the load. Moreover, in many cases, the movement at the lifting and lowering points of the load is inconsistent with the movement of the crane itself. Specifically, during the operation, the crane vessel and the receiving vessel will sway longitude, crosswise and rise and fall with the waves, and these movements will cause the load to swing. Especially during the lifting and lowering process, such movements of the vessel can easily cause the already lifted load to collide with the deck again, or leave the load that has been lowered but not yet detached from the hook suspended again. All these will threaten the stability of the operation. When conducting ammunition replenishment between ships, this coupled movement may cause serious consequences.
The control of Marine cranes has drawn widespread attention from various countries and civil Marine engineering. Meanwhile, the research on the control of such nonlinear and strongly coupled underactuated systems under special disturbances also holds significant theoretical value and universal significance.
The control of Marine cranes mainly consists of two aspects: vertical control to reduce the influence of hull movement and lateral anti-sway control to control the swing of the load. For vertical control, the commonly used method is to connect the receiving vessel through the mechanical structure of the crane vessel and sense its relative motion, so that the change in the length of the hoisting rope is synchronized with the lifting and sinking motion of the receiving vessel, thereby compensating for the relative motion of the two vessels. On this basis, the lifting and lowering transportation of the load is completed. This method has special requirements for the mechanical structure of the crane and also imposes significant restrictions on the lifting capacity.
As winter approaches, there are many ways to pay attention to when using large-scale mechanical equipment. Now we will mainly introduce the knowledge and skills of winter maintenance for Marine cranes. It is winter in the north, with very low temperatures. The normal operation of large mechanical equipment is under great pressure. We need to do a good job in daily maintenance and care, which can naturally increase the working speed.
1. Pay attention to the protection techniques of steel wire ropes
In the operation of Marine cranes, steel wire ropes are a very important component. In winter, it is necessary to frequently add protective oil to the steel wire rope. You can choose good grease. Of course, to save costs, used engine oil can also be chosen. The two can be used in combination and have a good protective effect.
2. Pay attention to the addition of antifreeze
Many vehicles need to add antifreeze in winter, and Marine cranes are no exception. When users add antifreeze, they should pay attention to the local temperature index. Antifreeze is generally added at around 10℃. Of course, the acceptable range is around minus 30 degrees Celsius. In addition, attention should be paid to the issue of rubber rings, as low temperatures are very likely to cause corrosion.
3. Pay close attention to the issue of hydraulic water removal
Antifreeze is just one of the important additives. At low temperatures, all liquids turn into icicles. At this point, the valve body of the Marine crane may malfunction. It is recommended to release the hydraulic oil in a timely manner under appropriate conditions. Water can be lost slowly.
In conclusion, winter is a special period. The use of Marine cranes needs to be combined with local climate and environmental factors. If it is the cold season, the use of the equipment itself is prone to be hindered. During this period, more attention should be paid to the addition of antifreeze and the attention to all aspects of details; otherwise, it will only cause damage to the equipment in the later stage.
